BACK TO SCHOOL CAMPAIGN: DEPUTY MINISTER FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, DR. MAKGABO MHAULE, VISITS TWO SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN MKHONDO

The Deputy Minister for the Department of Education, Dr. Makgabo Mhaule, visited two secondary schools under Mkhondo, accompanied by the Executive Mayor of Gert Sibande District Municipality Cllr. Walter Mngomezulu, the Executive Mayor of Mkhondo Local Municipality Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu, and the Mkhondo East Circuit Manager, Musawenkosi Luthuli.

The purpose of this visit was to congratulate the Class of 2024 on their achievements and to inspire the Class of 2025 and the rest of the leaners as they embark on their academic journey.

The schools visited were Ndlela Secondary School, which achieved a commendable pass rate of 79%, and Nqubeko Secondary School, which excelled with a pass rate of 84,1%. Both schools demonstrated significant improvement over the previous year’s results, reflecting their commitment to academic excellence.

During the visit, the Deputy Minister provided learners with a platform to share words of wisdom and encouragement with their peers, fostering a spirit of motivation and collaboration among the learners.

The event was graced by several key members, including the Whip of Council, for Mkhondo Local Municipality, Cllr. Daniel Thwala, members of the Mayoral Committees from both Gert Sibande District Municipality and Mkhondo Local Municipality, government officials from various spheres, and other key stakeholders.

This visit highlighted the government’s collective support for education and the shared goal of fostering a bright future for the leaners of Mkhondo.
