The 5th of March 2025 marked the second and last day of Mkhondo Local Municipality Strategic Planning. The workshop was mainly focused on reporting back from various commissions that were established on Day 1, the 4th of March 2025 session.
The Commissions formulated were as follows:
1. People Development: Focused on Employee Development.
2. Economic Positioning: Focused on issues of Local Economic Development.
3. Spatial Restructuring and Environmental Sustainability: Mainly focused on Spatial Planning.
4. Infrastructure Engineering: Focused on municipal infrastructure and maintenance.
5. Integrated Services Provisioning: Focused on all service delivery outputs.
6. Governance: Focused on municipal governance processes, including municipal financial viability.
The presentations by commissions outlined the challenges faced by the municipality while also providing solutions to the identified challenges, not only looking at the municipality but also challenges faced around the globe that affects the economy, politically etc.
In closing the Strategic Planning, the Executive Mayor of Mkhondo Local Municipality Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu extended gratitude to different stakeholders for taking part in this two days workshop and for the pivotal inputs that they have shared and then urged the municipal administration to implement all the resolutions taken for the betterment of service delivery to the communities.
