
Today, 24 February 2025, the Mkhondo Local Municipality in partnership with Eskom handed over an electricity project to the community of eMaphondleni farm in Ward 15.
The MMC for Technical Services, Mary Thwala in her speech mentioned that this project is fully funded by the government to electrify the households of the eMaphondleni community.
The project aims to assist the community with electricity and to also create employment opportunities for the people of eMaphondleni.
Eskom representative congratulated the community and provided insights on the importance of ensuring the project’s success.
In support of the handover, Officials and stakeholders in attendance were inclusive of the Senior Manager for Project Management, Dumsani Ngoma; Ward 15 Councillor, Cllr. Shoba; Contractors and Eskom team.
