MPUMALANGA PROVINCIAL DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, ROADS AND TRANSPORT MEC THULASIZWE THOMO OVERSIGHT VISIT

Mpumalanga MEC for the Department of Public Works, Roads, and Transport, Thulasizwe Thomo, along with the Executive Mayor of Mkhondo Local Municipality, Cllr. Ngelosi Ndlhovu, led a delegation from both the Mpumalanga Department of Public Works, Roads, and Transport and Mkhondo Local Municipality on a project site visit to Mahamba Bridge, Mkhondo Boarding School, Ndawonye Primary School, and Thandukukhanya Library.

The main focus of the visit was for the MEC and the Executive Mayor to evaluate the progress of the mentioned projects and to strengthen collaboration between contractors and the MEC.

The MEC highlighted the crucial need to ensure that the projects are completed within the estimated timeframe.

During the visit, the Executive Mayor, Cllr. Ngelosi Ndlhovu, expressed her appreciation for the MEC’s visit, stating, “As Mkhondo Local Municipality, we are thrilled to have MEC Thulasizwe Thomo visit us. We are optimistic that all projects will be completed on time for the improvement of our town.”

Inkosi yakwa-Mthethwa also acknowledged the prompt response from the MEC and stressed the significance of unity among communities.

Attendees included Inkosi yakwa Mahlobo, Inkosi yakwa Mthethwa, the MLM Speaker Council, Cllr. Mduduzi Ngwenya, the MLM Whip of Council, Cllr. Dan Thwala, Mkhondo Councillors, management from both Mkhondo Local Municipality and the Department of Public Works, Roads, and Transport, contractors, local sub-contractors, and other key stakeholders.

The overall employment created by these projects is 280 inclusive of the youth, women and people living with disability, and there are 28 SMMEs in total involved on the projects.
