ANT-FRAUD, ANTI-CORRUPTION AND ETHICS WORKSHOP AWARENESS

144

Mkhondo Local Municipality Councillors sat in a workshop facilitated by the MLM Risk Management Office where presentations from the Office of the Premier, Special Investigation Unit (SIU), HAWKS and Gert Sibande District Municipality were being delivered today, 04 April 2024.

The promotion of professional ethics in hopes of ensuring governance that will advance public service, benefiting the community was the order of the day. “Ethics provide accountability between the public and the administration”.

Ethical behaviour as the bridge between right and wrong, is encouraged as desired common practice to prevent corruption, fraud and disservice to the communities.

Reporting unethical conduct, suspicious activity, inclusive of lifestyle changes, misappropriation of institutional funds, are amongst points raised by the presenters as policies were conveyed to the councillors to ensure effective action in favour of the municipality and its people.
