MPUMALANGA PROVINCIAL LEGISLATURE PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE VISITS MKHONDO LOCAL MUNICIPALITY TODAY FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON MARINE POLLUTION AMENDMENT BILL

 

Yesterday, 06 February 2024, Gert Sibande District Municipality, in partnership with Mkhondo Local Municipality, visited Hope Laundry and Projects Cooperative in Richards Bay under Ward 12.

The visit was led by Gert Sibande District Municipality MMC for Planning and Economic Development, Cllr. B Buthelezi, along with Cllr. TE Khumalo, MMC for Planning and Economic Development in Mkhondo Local Municipality.

The purpose of the visit was to hand over a 14 KG Primus Industrial Washing Machine, 2.5 LT Boiler, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 

 Hope Laundry received the goods with immense appreciation as the equipment will enhance the project's efficiency, with the hope of attracting and increasing its clientele count.

 

The Speaker of Council, Cllr. Mduduzi Ngwenya of Mkhondo Local Municipality alongside the Whip of Council who is also the Ward four Councillor, Cllr. Daniel Thwala, Senior Manager in the Office of the Speaker at Gert Sibande District Municipality,Mr. Sam Msibi and other municipal officials visited the community of Boesman Village situated in Ward 04 yesterday, 06 February 2024.

The outreach was held to inform and educate residents of Boesman Village on the importance of voting and also provided ways to ensure that all voting procedures are followed accordingly to avoid spoilt ballots papers.
