In a continuous quest to foster unity and social cohesion within Mkhondo, the Executive Mayor, Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu, held a significant Inter-Faith Stakeholder Engagement session, 22 May 2025.
This important gathering was attended by various interfaith representatives from across Mkhondo.
The session provided a vital platform for meaningful engagement and collaboration among diverse faith communities. One of the key topics addressed by the Executive Mayor was the necessity of establishing an Inter-Faith Forum, which aims to facilitate ongoing communication and cooperation among different religious groups.
Additionally, the meeting included presentations on the locations of various faith-based sites within Mkhondo. The Pastors were further informed about capital projects that are currently under construction, as well as those that have been completed, all in accordance with the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for 2025/26.
The interfaith community was given the opportunity to actively participate by posing questions where clarity was needed.
The Executive Mayor and the respective Senior Managers present at the meeting provided insightful feedback and responses to these inquiries.
Such engagements are set to become a regular practice, as the municipality is committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders towards the betterment of Mkhondo.
