Mkhondo Local Municipality, through its Environmental Management Unit, proudly hosted the 10th Annual Environmental Summit today, 5 June 2025, at Waterside Lodge, in celebration of World Environment Day.
Held under the theme “Our Planet, Our Responsibility”, the summit aligned with the global call to action to protect and preserve our environment. This year’s focus spotlighted the growing crisis of plastic pollution and emphasized the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding our planet for generations to come.
Over the past decade, Mkhondo has made commendable strides in environmental stewardship. This milestone summit marked a decade of impact, commitment, and excellence—celebrating successes, reflecting on lessons learned, and paving the way for future initiatives.
