Mkhondo Local Municipality hereby invites the public to inspect the 2018/2019 approved annual Budget in terms of Section 18 (1) of the Municipal Budget and Reporting Regulation.
Copies of the documents are available at Town Library (eMkhondo), Saul Mkhizeville (Municipal building) and Amsterdam (Municipal building) or alternatively they may be perused during office hours (from 08H00 to 16H00, Mondays to Fridays) at the Main Town hall Municipal Office Reception Area.

Water and Wastewater Quality Report - January 2018-March 2018
This report indicates an overview of water quality status for the last three months (i.e. January 2018 – March 2018) across Mkhondo Local Municipality jurisdiction area. The report is generated from the monthly water quality results received from Gert Sibande District Municipality Water Quality Laboratory.
NB: Attached is the detailed water report submitted by Water and Sanitation division, under the Technical Services Department.

An important part of waste control is conserving the earth. What resources should we be mindful of preserving and why?
- Fossil fuels used to make petrol and diesel is not available in unlimited supplies. What is more, is that using them results in emissions that are harmful to our planet’s atmosphere – the very air we breathe!
- Clean water is one of our planet’s resources. Waste water today (not only by using too much of it or being careless about how water is wasted, but also by contaminating clean water with things like detergents and toxins) and we may be in need of water in the near future.
- Our green heritage is making way for concrete jungles and highways, while our planet needs trees and plants in order to provide clean air for us to breathe.
- Electricity is an important resource because it literally powers our lives. However, to generate electricity is not only expensive, but precious resources such as coal and water are used to generate power, the cost to use electricity of course also makes it important to conserve it and use it sparingly.

COUNCIL MEETING - Municipal Notice No: 11-05- 25/2018
The Speaker of Mkhondo Municipal Council, honourable Cllr Thembelihle Nkosi hereby gives notice in terms of Section 19 (a) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, No. 32 of 2000 that a Council meeting of the Mkhondo Local Municipality will be held in the Council Chamber of Mkhondo Local Municipality, situated at 33 Cnr Mark & De Wet Streets, eMkhondo, on Wednesday, 30 May 2018 at 10h00.
The Council will, among other issues, be discussing the following reports:
- Final Review of the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) for 2018/19 financial year
- Report on the 2018/19 Final Budget
- 2017/18 Special Adjustment Budget
