WATER INTERRUPTION NOTICE - 29 SEPTEMBER 2023

There will be no water supply from the Heyshope Dam to the Saul Mkhize Water Treatment Works. 
 
The Usutu River Government Water Scheme, Jericho Dam, is planning a water outage at Heyshope Dam to carry out emergency maintanance at their pump station.
 
Affected areas include Saul Mkhize, Kwa-Ngema, Mabola, Vuka, Msinyane and Mlazi.
 
The outage is scheduled for:
 
Date: 29 September 2023 (Thursday)
 
Time: 07:00a.m to 00:00a.m
 
 
We urge the community to store and use water sparingly.
 
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

UPDATE ON UNPLANNED POWER OUTAGE DUE TO CABLE THEFT

This notice serves to notify residents that the Municipality is aware of the current power outage, resulting from cable theft that occurred on Thursday, 14 September 2023 at the Transnet Bridge

Upon the team's inception on the repairs aimed at addressing the incident, it was discovered that another cable was damaged, which caused a delay in fixing the cables. 

The team is working around the clock to fix the problem. 

Areas affected by the outage:

eZiphunzini

WaterWorks

Welverdiend section and surrounding areas. 

The estimated restoration time is 16:00 pm. 

The estimated time of 16:00 pm changed to 20:00 pm. Based on the 16:00-20:00pm estimation, the team has completed repairs and electricity has been restored.

The municipality regrets the inconvenience caused and appreciates your understanding and patience.
