This initiative comes after Kangra Mine pledged to maintain the road, as it has been deteriorated for a long time. This marks a significant step towards enhancing the quality of infrastructure and ensuring safer, smoother roads for all residents and visitors coming to the village.

The partnership between Mkhondo Local Municipality and Kangra Coal Mine exemplifies a shared commitment to improving and investing in the well-being of our communities. The project will benefit not only road users but all communities across Saul Mkhizeville and surrounding areas.

The Executive Mayor, Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu, was thrilled with the initiative from Kangra Coal Mine and said, "As Mkhondo Local Municipality, we are excited about the positive impact this initiative will have on our community. I look forward to seeing the continued progress and improvements in our road infrastructure."

The project has commenced and is anticipated to last for 5 months. The team will be doing road resealing for 18 km from the N2 road to Saul Mkhizeville.

Among the attendees were the Stakeholder Relations Manager from Kangra, Mpfuneni Mulaudzi, Stakeholder Relations Officer Simo Yende, Local Development Manager for MLM Howard Vilakazi, and Senior Manager for Roads and Stormwater Phakamani Ndlovu.
