OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE MAYOR, CLLR. NGELOSI NDHLOVU CONDUCTS ENGAGEMENT WITH STREET HAWKERS

On 30 April 2026, the Office of the Executive Mayor, Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu together with the Whip of Council, Cllr. SD Thwala, conducted an engagement session with street hawkers at the Municipal Town Hall.

The purpose of the meeting was to provide street hawkers with an opportunity to raise and discuss the challenges and grievances they are currently facing in their day-to-day operations. Various concerns were presented and deliberated upon, allowing all stakeholders to identify key issues and collectively agree on a way forward to address them.

The engagement forms part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to fostering open communication, promoting inclusive participation, and ensuring that the concerns of informal traders are heard and addressed in a constructive manner.

Among those in attendance were the MMC for Community Services, Cllr. J.M. Nkosi, officials from the Office of the Executive Mayor, as well as representatives from the Law Enforcement Office.
