On 29 May 2026, the Mkhondo Local Municipality through its Traffic Control Unit conducted a roadblock on the Wakkerstrom road.
This initiative aimed to educate the public on road safety and to collect overdue traffic fines.
Motorists were urged to settle their fines within 30 days to avoid additional court costs, and the members of the public were also encouraged to visit the department to check for any outstanding traffic fines they may not be aware of.
The Traffic Unit further stressed the importance of obeying traffic regulations to ensure the safety of all road users.
