The Gert Sibande District Municipality, in partnership with Mkhondo Local Municipality, participated in the implementation of the Biodiversity and Conservation Management Project at Mkhondo Park Crescent, East and West, in Ward 7 yesterday.
The aim of the programme is to promote environmental sustainability and improve residents’ quality of life by creating greener, healthier, and more resilient communities.
Through this initiative, both municipalities are working together to uplift living conditions while preserving natural resources for future generations.
As part of the programme, flowers and trees were donated, followed by a tree-planting activity. The new greenery will contribute to beautifying Mkhondo Park, improving air quality, and strengthening the municipality’s efforts to combat the effects of climate change.
