
Executive Mayor Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu recently engaged with the community through a meeting in Ward 17 at Kwa-Hlalangenkani and a visit to the Alliance Church in Magadeni, Ward 10. The primary goal was to foster a transparent and collaborative relationship between the municipality and its communities.
The executive mayor actively listened to residents’ concerns regarding service delivery issues, including:
- Power Outages, Primarily caused by cable thefts by Izinyokanyoka
- Water Outages due to insufficient access to raw water
- Road Infrastructure Challenges, discussing ways to improve road conditions
The event attendees included the Whip of Council, Cllr. Bhekabantu Mtshali from Gert Sibande District Municipality, Municipal Councillors, key stakeholders and municipal officials.
This initiative demonstrates the municipality’s efforts to prioritize community engagement and address pressing issues affecting residents. By engaging with local communities, the municipality aims to empower residents and ensure their voices are heard.
