Mkhondo Local Municipality on 04 November 2025 hosted an event which was led by Small Enterprise Development Finance Agency (SEDFA) to empower small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) through the Informal and Micro Enterprise Development Programme.
The purpose of this initiative aimed to equip SMMEs with essential tools of trade to build sustainable enterprises.
The Small Enterprise Development Finance Agency (SEDFA) through the MLM Local Economic Development (LED) Office, supported 17 SMMEs from various wards within Mkhondo with their respective enterprises tools of trade to maximize their productivity. This effort is part of the municipality’s broader strategy to foster economic growth, reduce vulnerability, and promote sustainable enterprise development.
By providing SMMEs with the necessary resources, the municipality is demonstrating its commitment to creating a diverse, inclusive, and opportunity-driven local economy. This initiative not only supports business growth but also contributes to long-term economic resilience and independence.
