Mkhondo Local Municipality, in partnership with the Provincial Department of Education, launched the Back to School Campaign yesterday, 14 January 2026.
Officials visited five schools in the area, including Ezakheni Boarding School, Sinethemba Combined School, and Ndlela Secondary School, and other two to welcome learners and educators back to the new academic year – 2026.
The delegation, led by Executive Mayor Cllr. NC Ndhlovu, encouraged learners to strive for excellence and assessed the schools’ infrastructure needs. The visit aimed to promote a positive learning environment and address challenges facing local schools.
The campaign was supported by Hon. TR Nkonyane MPL, MLM Speaker of Council – Cllr. MZ Ngwenya and Councillors, representatives from the Provincial Department of Education.
