On 15 January 2026, Mkhondo Local Municipality, together with the Department of Human Settlements and Gift of the Givers, revisited households affected by the storm in various wards of eMkhondo, including Ward 10 and Ward 11.
Gift of the Givers provided essential relief items, including food parcels, sponges, and blankets ro the affected households.
Officials from the Department of Human Settlements assessed the affected households to collect information and provide appropriate assistance.
MMC for Planning and Economic Development, Cllr. T.E. Khumalo, MMC for Community Services, Cllr. J.M. Nkosi, and General Manager for Community Services, Ms. Z. Mthethwa, were among the officials who participated in this initiative.
