On 06 February 2026, the Executive Mayor of Mkhondo Local Municipality, Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu, honoured an invitation to attend the Mkhondo West Circuit Class of 2025 Matric Awards Ceremony. The event was dedicated to recognising and celebrating academic excellence among top-performing learners.
The Executive Mayor Cllr. Ndhlovu in her keynote address, commended the dedication and commitment of educators, learners, and parents, acknowledging their collective efforts in achieving improved academic performance for the Class of 2025.
The Mkhondo West Circuit recorded a notable improvement in matric results, rising from 82.4% in 2024 to an impressive 88% in 2025, clearly demonstrating a circuit on the rise.
During the ceremony, outstanding Grade 11 learners of 2025, who are currently in Grade 12 this year 2026, were also recognised and awarded for their exceptional academic performance.
The awards ceremony brought together various government leaders, including the Schools Principals, Educators, Learners, and key stakeholders, reflecting a shared commitment to the advancement of quality education.
The representatives attended included the MMC for Community Services Cllr. Johnson Nkosi, the MMC for Corporate Services Cllr. Mthandeni Mkhabela, and Chief M.T Yende of Ogenyaneni.
