Today, 10 February 2026, Mkhondo Local Municipality through its Revenue Unit under Financial Services conducted an Indigent registration programme at Skeyfin Community Hall in Ward 17.
The municipality embarked on the programme with the purpose to register qualifying residents for inclusion in the municipality’s Indigent Support Programme which enables them to access subsidies on municipal services such as rates and taxes.
The community came out in numbers to take advantage of this socio-economic viable interventions and support by the municipality.
This initiative was also aimed at ensuring that vulnerable and low-income households receive much-needed financial relief, improved access to basic services, and enhanced social support through municipal assistance programmes.
The programme was graced by the ward Councillor, Cllr. Mthokozisi Simelane and the Ward Committees.
