Kangra Coal Mining, in partnership with Mkhondo Local Municipality, recently donated much-needed school furniture to Qedela Secondary School in Saul Mkhize Ville on 05 March 2026.
The donation included 360 chairs and 180 double desks, aimed at improving the learning and teaching environment and ensuring learners have adequate seating and sufficient workspace.
MMC for Community Services, Cllr. Johnson Nkosi, and MMC for Corporate Services, Cllr. Mthandeni Mkhabela, were among the attendees of the handover ceremony, highlighting the importance of collaboration between the private sector and local government in supporting education.
This initiative is expected to ease existing shortages in the school and create a more conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning.
