On the 07 September 2018, Mpumalanga Premier, Ms Refilwe Mtshweni accompanied by Mkhondo Executive Mayor, Hon. Cllr Vusi Motha visited Piet Retief Hospital as part of the "Thuma Mina Campaign".

The closing date has been further extended to no later than 14 September 2018. A Compulsory briefing session will be held on the 28 August 2018 at 11:00 at the Mkhondo Local Municipality, Council Chamber.
