Once again, we raise our voices against the ongoing pain and cruelty inflicted on women and children.
Gender-based violence and child abuse remain national tragedies, especially in rural areas like Mkhondo, where limited access to maternal health and support services deepens the vulnerability of survivors. Today marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence and Child Abuse a call to action, not just a campaign. These 16 days must renew our collective determination to confront abuse wherever it manifests.
This year, we commit to rewriting our story through community dialogues, training volunteers as GBV champions, expanding access to shelters and psychosocial support, empowering young people through school-based workshops, and strengthening collaboration with
SAPS to ensure swift justice and safety in high-risk areas.
Together, we will build safer communities by reporting abuse, supporting survivors, and upholding dignity and justice for all. Let courage lead us as we work towards a Mkhondo where every person is protected, valued, and free.
