Community members actively participated in the meeting voicing their concerns, and providing input on service delivery issues affecting their livelihoods. Ward 17 Councillor, Cllr. Mthokozisi Simelane successfully conducted the meeting, He then discussed project priorities with the community, ensuring the municipality’s IDP and budget align with the needs of each ward. He further outlined completed and ongoing projects, discussed progress and outstanding issues to the community.
Eligible residents are also encouraged to register for the indigent program, ensuring they receive essential services without interruption.
Attendees included Cllr. J.R Sibiya, Cllr. S.P Mkhwanazi, General Manager Technical Services, Mr. Sphesihle Nkosi; General Manager Community Services, Ms. Zamanyambose Mthethwa; Senior Manager Revenue Services, Ms. Zamokuhle Mthethwa; and other municipal officials to facilitate discussions and provide relevant information to the community.
The Mkhondo Local Municipality’s IDP and Budget Consultation Meetings demonstrate the municipality’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community-driven development. By engaging with residents, the municipality can create a more effective IDP and budget that addresses the needs of each ward.
