IN PICTURES || On the 28th of October 2025, Ward 06 Councillor, Cllr. Mbongeni Ngwenya successfully conducted an IDP and Budget Consultation meeting to the community at Harlem.
The Cllr Ngwenya commenced with the meeting firstly by highlighting what is the IDP and its purpose in communities, and then presented projects that are completed and in progress, outstanding issues and future projects planned, and later the community members were also given an opportunity to voice out their concerns pertaining their ward service delivery needs and further presented valuable insights on projects priorities of the ward.
The delegation who attended the meeting included the MMC Technical Services – Cllr Mary Thwala, Ward Committee, and key municipal officials for the purpose of reviewing, updating community’s needs and also to facilitate discussions and provide relevant information to the community regards their concerns.
The Mkhondo Local Municipality’s IDP and Budget Consultation Meetings demonstrate the municipality’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community-driven development. So, by engaging with residents, the municipality can create a more effective IDP and budget that addresses the needs of each ward.
