Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. MR Mhaule, and Mpumalanga MEC for Education, Ms. M Masina, joined hands with Mkhondo Local Municipality’s Executive Mayor, Cllr. NC Ndhlovu, at Piet Retief Combined School and Nqubeko High School on 16 January 2026.
The visit assessed post-matric result progress and addressed risk factors impacting learners and teachers performance.
Dr Mhaule offered guidance and encouragement to students, teachers and principals, while acknowledging donations to the schools.
The delegation included Provincial Legislature, Gert Sibande District Municipality and Mkhondo Local Municipality representatives, highlighting collaborative efforts to support local education – the future of our children.
