Mkhondo Local Municipality’s Environmental Management Unit and Social Services visited Bhekulwazi Day Care Centre on 26 January 2026, to mark World Environmental Education Day.
Bhekulwazi Day Care Centre is an Early Child Development (ECD) facility in Mkhondo which provides care and education for young children.
The Mkhondo Environmental team promoted environmental awareness and a culture of reading among young learners through interactive lessons and activities in their visit.
Learners were encouraged to adopt responsible environmental habits and keep their surroundings clean. The Library and Information Services also read stories to the kids, taught them about library services, and invited them to visit the library regularly.
