Mkhondo Local Municipality and Eskom have partnered to bring electricity to the eMbilitshisi Farm community in Ward 02. The electricity project handover took place on 13 November 2025, with Cllr. Mary Thwala, MMC for Technical Services, highlighting the project’s goal of enhancing service delivery and creating employment opportunities for the community, especially the young people.
The project aims to provide the community with access to electricity, improving their quality of life and supporting economic growth. A representative from Eskom emphasized the importance of ensuring the project’s success and warned against the misuse of electricity, highlighting necessary safety precautions.
The handover was successfully conducted by ward councillor, Cllr BE Maisela, and attended by Delegated Municipal officials, including the Eskom team, demonstrating the collaborative effort to bring electricity to the community.
