On 23 April 2025, Mkhondo Local Municipality held its 2025/26 IDP and Budget engagement with residents in Kempville Community Hall under Ward 10.
The meeting proceedings were conducted by the Ward 10 Councillor, Cllr. Thomo.
The main purpose of the meeting was to engage with the community regarding their service delivery concerns, and for the Councillor to present projects that the municipality completed and those inprogress for ward 10 for example the taxi and bus route construction, and further discussed other projects that are still outstanding, to mention, taxi and bus route to be constructed in Osloop as it is outlined in the previous IDP document.
The municipal budget further outlined the increasing municipal tariffs, rates, and taxes for the coming financial year.
Residents voiced out their concern pertaining to the time the IDP and Budget meetings are scheduled, saying the turn up doesn’t reflect the purpose of these meetings, asked to be looked at by the municipal to accommodate the multitude.
In support of the meeting, attendees were MMC for Finance Cllr. T Manana, Community Development Worker, Ward Committee members, and MLM deployed officials for key municipal services, which are the Expenditure unit, Revenue Collection, Office of the Speaker, IDP and Communication office.
