16 October 2025, the Mkhondo Local Municipality through its Environmental Management and Social Development Unit conducted a clean-up and environmental awareness campaign at Iswepe, Ward 04.
This initiative focused on educating the Iswepe community about the significance of maintaining a clean environment and discouraging the improper disposal of waste, which poses risks to both public health and the natures surroundings.
The campaign was successfully led by the Ward 04 Councillor, Cllr. Dan Thwala, jointly with the Senior Manager for Environmental Management and Social Development, Mr. Vusiwe Dube.
In support of the campaign, representatives from Mondi and the Inkomati Usuthu Catchment Agency were also present, together with municipal officials and community members.
