As part of the preparations for the upcoming 11th MLM Environmental Summit, Mkhondo Local Municipality, through its Environmental Unit, conducted a build-up programme on 20 May 2026, under the theme: “Sustainable Communities, Shared Responsibilities.”
The build-up activities included grass and tree cutting, as well as the removal of alien invasive species at eZinkonjaneni in Ward 17. These efforts form part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to creating a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment for all residents.
The programme was led by the Senior Manager for Environmental Management and Social Development, Mr Vusiwe Dube.
The municipality encourages community members to continue playing their part in protecting the environment and promoting sustainable living practices within their respective communities.
