IN PICTURE || Municipal Strategic Planning Workshop
The Mkhondo Local Municipality on 17 November 2025 convened its technical strategic planning workshop as part of its preparations for the upcoming institutional strategic planning process which was held at the Amsterdam Municipal Town Hall. The workshop focused on reviewing the 2022-2027 Integrated Development Plan (IDP).
The session established various commissions which were, Economic Positioning, Spatial Restructuring, Integrated Service Provision, and Governance, tasked with identifying challenges and proposing measures to enhance service delivery.
In support of the workshop, representatives from government departments – Department of Comnunity Safety, Security and Liaison; Department of Cooporative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs; Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport; Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs together with the Office of the Premier were in attendance. They all positively contributed to the discussions.
The workshop aimed to improve the municipality’s delivery of essential services and drive progress in the municipality.
