The Mkhondo Local Municipality recently convened its Integrated Development Plan (IDP) Representative Forum meeting at the municipal council chambers on 16 September 2025. This meeting brought together key stakeholders to evaluate progress in service delivery and align municipal and stakeholder plans with the developmental needs of the community.
Stakeholders who were present included:
Government Departments – Mpumalanga CoGHSTA, Department of Agriculture, Department of Rural Development and Land Reform, Department of Health, Department of Water and Sanitation, and representatives from the Mining Industry, Gert Sibande District Municipality and MLM Councillors
The meeting key objectives was to evaluate progress, by assessing the current state of service delivery in Mkhondo, Ensuring municipal and stakeholder plans align with community developmental needs, and very importantly — Economic Growth and Skills Development, where stakeholders presented programs and commitments for the current financial year, focusing on economic growth and skills development.
The meeting aimed to promote collaborative development and improve the quality of life for the community of Mkhondo.
