On the 12 August 2025, The Mkhondo Local Municipality has introduced its new leadership to strengthen the municipal stability, with Executive Mayor Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu officially introduced Mr. Mthandeni Mkhonza as the Municipal Manager, commenced on February 2025.
The new leadership team includes:
- General Manager: FinancialServices (CFO), Mr. Khomotso Duba
- General Manager: Planning and Economic Development, Mr. Ntandoyenkosi Bhembe
- Senior Manager: Revenue Services, Ms. Zamamokuhle Mthethwa
- Senior Manager: Budget and Reporting, Mr. Thulasizwe Motha
During the introduction session, Executive Mayor Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu emphasized the importance of diligent service delivery to the community, while Municipal Manager Mr. Mthandeni Mkhonza committed to elevating Mkhondo Local Municipality to greater heights with his team.
It’s worth noting that the municipality has been actively working on various initiatives to improve service delivery and community development. Some of these initiatives include:
– Moral Regeneration Movement, launched on 26 February 2025, to facilitate and restore morals within Mkhondo communities.
– Integrated Development Plan and Budget Consultation Meetings, held in various wards to engage with the community and prioritize their needs.
– Inter-Faith Stakeholder Engagement, conducted on 22 May 2025, to foster unity and social cohesion among different faith-based groups.
The new leadership team is expected to build on these initiatives and drive the municipality’s vision for a better future.
