On 12 October 2025, Ward Councillor, Cllr. Dan Thwala successfully conducted two (02) IDP and Budget Consultation meetings to the communities of Ward 04. First session being at Wemer Sportsground and later, second session at Iswepe Community Hall.
The Councillor presented projects that are completed, outstanding issues and projects planned, and the community members were also given an opportunity to voice out their concerns pertaining service delivery needs and presented valuable insights on projects priorities.
The delegation who attended the meeting included the Ward Committee Members, Community Development Workers (CDWs) and municipal officials for the purpose of reviewing, updating community’s needs and also to facilitate discussions and provide relevant information to the community regards their concerns.
The Mkhondo Local Municipality’s IDP and Budget Consultation Meetings demonstrate the municipality’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community-driven development. So, by engaging with residents, the municipality can create a more effective IDP and budget that addresses the needs of each ward.
