On 11 October 2025, Ward Councillor, Cllr. Thokozane Manana successfully conducted Ward 09 IDP and Budget Consultation meeting at Berbice Primary School to the community.
The Councillor presented projects that are completed, outstanding issues and projects planned, and the community members were also given an opportunity to voice out their concerns pertaining service delivery needs and presented valuable insights on projects priorities.
The Municipal Management who attended the meeting included the Municipal Manager – Mr. Mthandeni Mkhonza, Chief Financial Officer – Mr. Duma, GM Community Services – Ms Zama Mthethwa, GM Corporate Services – Ms Wendy Mahlangu, and other officials, together with Ward Committee Members and Community Development Workers (CDWs) to facilitate discussions and provide relevant information to the community. The team demonstrated strong commitment to the development, social and welfare of the community.
The Mkhondo Local Municipality’s IDP and Budget Consultation Meetings demonstrate the municipality’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community-driven development. So, by engaging with residents, the municipality can create a more effective IDP and budget that addresses the needs of each ward.
