IN PICTURE || On the 29th of October 2025, Speaker of Council, Cllr. Mduduzi Ngwenya successfully presided over an IDP and Budget consultation meeting at Ward 12, Sthuli Hleza Community Hall.
The Speaker highlighted the importance of the IDP to the community and in the municipality. He then presented projects that are completed, outstanding issues and projects planned, and the community members were also given an opportunity to voice out their concerns pertaining service delivery needs and presented valuable insights on projects priorities.
Eligible and qualifying residents were also urged to register for the indigent subsidy to assist them not being disconnected from municipal services in the expense of not paying their accounts.
The meeting attendees included the Community Development Workers (CDWs), Ward Committees and deployed Municipal Officials to facilitate discussions and provide relevant information to the community. The team demonstrated strong commitment to the development, social and welfare of the community.
The Mkhondo Local Municipality’s IDP and Budget Consultation Meetings demonstrate the municipality’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and community-driven development. So, by engaging with residents, the municipality can create a more effective IDP and budget that addresses the needs of each ward.
