Mkhondo Local Municipality officially reopened the Mkhondo Public Library today, Monday following extensive repairs after the facility sustained damage during severe storms on 11 November 2024.
The reopening ceremony marked the return of an important public institution that serves as a centre for education, literacy, research, and community development. Speaking at the event, MMC for Community Services Cllr J.M. Nkosi said, “The reopening of this library restores more than just a building. It restores a safe space for learners, researchers, and families to grow, read, and build a better future for Mkhondo.”
The launch was attended by MMC for Community Services Cllr J.M. Nkosi, representatives from DCSR and TWK, municipal officials, and other stakeholders.
