Today, 15 August 2025, the Mkhondo Local Municipality, through the LED Office led by Advocate Howard Vilakazi and in partnership with Foloyi Construction & Projects, held a sod-turning event at Saul Mkhize Ville Library in Ward 02.
The much-anticipated road construction project is set to begin this month, with completion expected by December 2025.
During the event, Executive Mayor Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu expressed her sincere appreciation to Foloyi Construction & Projects for their commitment to improving the quality of life in the community.
Mayor Ndhlovu further commended the company for understanding the municipality’s challenges and for responding accordingly.
The Foloyi Construction & Projects awarded certificates to participants who successfully completed training in operating yellow plant machinery, equipping them with practical skills for future employment opportunities.
The event was attended by the Speaker of Council, Cllr. Mduduzi Ngwenya; the Whip of Council, Cllr. Daniel Thwala; Traditional Leaders; members of the Business and Community Forums; Community Development Workers; and community members.
