On 26 May 2026, the Speaker of Council, Cllr. MZ Ngwenya, together with the IEC conducted a school democracy programme focused on voter education and voter registration at Kempsiding Combined School.
The purpose of the initiative was to educate Grade 12 learners about the voter registration process and inform them about the registration period for the upcoming local government elections. The Speaker also encouraged learners to approach the academic year with perseverance, discipline, and dedication towards achieving academic success.
As part of the programme, the Speaker’s Office donated stationery packs as well as school shoes to the learners of Kempsiding Combined School.
