IN PICTURES || Farm Dwellers Engagement Session
The Office of the Speaker hosted a Farm Dwellers Engagement Session at the Mkhondo Town Hall on 19 November 2025, led by Speaker of Council – Cllr. Mduduzi Ngwenya. The engagement brought together community members, ward councillors, and officials from various departments to address pressing issues affecting farm dwellers.
Concerns raised included delays in essential services, documentation challenges, and harassment by some farm owners. Cllr. Ngwenya and Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu called for collaborative efforts to address these issues and ensure farm dwellers receive necessary support and protection.
In support of the initiative, government departments and other stakeholders were in attendance, including Department of Land Affairs, Department of Home Affairs, Ihawu Labantu and YANA.
The session marked a significant step in addressing long-standing challenges faced by farm dwellers in Mkhondo, providing a platform for stakeholders to engage and work towards solutions.
