On 12 February 2026, the Speaker of Council, Cllr. Mduduzi Ngwenya, convened a community meeting with residents of Ward 12 at the Sthuli Hleza Community Hall.
The purpose of the meeting was to formally introduce the contractor appointed to rehabilitate the sinkhole at Mafred Homes. This project aims to address infrastructure challenges, mitigate health concerns, and create employment opportunities for local residents.
The appointed contractor has recruited seven labourers to assist with the construction work. The team includes a Safety Officer, a Community Liaison Officer, and General Workers, ensuring balanced gender representation and inclusive participation.
