IN PICTURES || Mkhondo Local Municipalitys’ efforts in enforcing traffic rules and regulations, and promoting road safety and responsible driving practices.
On 15 September 2025, Mkhondo Local Municipality Traffic Department conducted a roadblock in eMkhondo town as part of a road safety awareness campaign, led by Chief Traffic Officer Mr. Lucky Ngozo. The initiative aimed to educate road users on the importance of observing road rules and collecting overdue traffic fines.
The key o bjectives of the campaign was based on Road Safety Education, Emphasizing the importance of adhering to road rules and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure safe travel, and Traffic Fine Collection, Collecting overdue traffic fines and encouraging drivers to settle their fines within 30 days to avoid additional court costs.
The campaign further outlined the importance of road safety, touching on Accidents Prevention, road safety measures that can significantly reduce the number of accidents on the road, protecting lives, preventing injuries and reducing traffic congestion by promoting safe driving practices, and also promote smoother traffic flow.
