MKHONDO LOCAL MUNICIPALITY WOMEN EMPLOYEES CELEBRATION 2023
The Executive Mayor, Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu created a platform to empower women employees of Mkhondo Local Municipality, the session focused on sanctioning empowering opportunities to strive in diverse areas of success.
Women from vast sectors namely; Department of Health, Financial Service Providers, Ms Sinethemba Ndlangamandla for Mphazima funerals, Dr.JF Khumalo, Rev. Vilane and other stakeholders graced the prestigious event with their presence and shared insights on various topics.

ADDRESSING TRUCK AND TRAFFIC TROUBLES
The GM for Community Services, Miss Z. Mthethwa chaired a meeting in the Town Hall today, addressing traffic matters within eMkhondo.
Amongst the attendees were the MMC for Community Services, Cllr. W. Vilakazi, Ward 7 Councillor, Cllr. I. Brussow, Municipality Management, Officials and Business Owners. The sitting was aimed at addressing traffic issues and the adverse effects of trucks passing through our town, causing more harm than good.
There was open dialogue in the meeting where both problems and possible solutions were put on the table for consideration in the betterment of eMkhondo Town.
SPEAKER OF COUNCIL & IEC VOTING AWARENESS CAMPAIN IN SCHOOLS
The Speaker of Council for Mkhondo Local Municipality Cllr. Mduduzi Ngwenya as the custodian of Public Participation partnered with IEC to visit secondary schools around Mkhondo to educate leaners on voting.
The campaign is meant to encourage learners about the importance of participating in voting during national, provincial, and local elections. The campaign took place at Mlilo Combined and Kempsiding Combined School today, others to follow.
MPUMALANGA AUGUST HORSE RACING TAKES PLACE eMKHONDO 2023
The Mpumalanga August Horse Racing event took place today, 19 august 2023 on the N2 opposite eMaphepheni.
The event kicked off with a parade along Church Street in Mkhondo Town, proceeding to said venue.
The promotion of Sports, Arts and Culture were the order of the day with horse races taking place, hand-made crafts by Mkhondo residents on display, and a multitude of local artists taking center stage showcasing their talents.
The Mkhondo Local Municipality Acting Executive Mayor, Cllr. T Khumalo introduced all in attendance, including ubukhosi bakwa Yende and stakeholders; Department of Sports and Recreation, Gert Sibande District Municipality, MPACT and Mphazima Funerals.
MPUMALANGA SANRAL CAREER EXPO IN MKHONDO LOCAL MUNICIPALITY 2023
Mkhondo Local Municipality today, led by South African National Roads Limited (SANRAL), hosted a Mpumalanga Career Expo at Mkhondo Local Municipality Town Hall.
Gert Sibande District Municipality, Road Accident Fund , Department of Labour , Gert Sibande TVET College , Home Affairs and the Department of Employment & Labour were stakeholders that were part of the informative gathering .
The purpose of the day was for the learners to be exposed to various career opportunities, have engagements, and also be assisted to apply for bursaries to further their studies.
SPEAKER OF COUNCIL OUTREACH PROGRAMME
The Speaker of the Council Cllr. Mduduzi Ngwenya, held a community meeting at Ward 8 in Dr Pols and Mooihouk, with the purpose of electing a ward committee to assist the Office of the Speaker .
The meeting was graced by the Department of Public Works and recruited people for the Siyatetela Project .
EXECUTIVE MAYOR, CLLR NGELOSI CELEBTRATES WOMEN'S MONTH WITH eMKHONDO WOMEN 2023
The Executive Mayor, Cllr. Ngelosi Ndhlovu for Mkhondo Local Municipality celebrated Women’s Month with the women of eMkhondo on the 16 August 2023 in S'thuli Hleza Hall, eThandukukhanya location.
Key skateholders hailing from various departments came in support of the celebration, Gert Sibande District Municipality, Department Social Development, South African Police Services, South African Social Security Agency, Department of Home Affairs, Department of Labour, You Are Not Alone Foundation, GRIP Foundation, Beauty Grootboom Foundation, Pastors fraternal and Department of Health were part of the celebration.
The event’s purpose was to educate, encourage, and empower women on diverse topics of life.
GERT SIBANDE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY OVERSIGHT INDABA 2023
Mkhondo Local Municipality, hosted the Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature for an oversight Indaba today, on behalf of Gert Sibande District Municipality.
The programme was directed by Gert Sibande District Municipality speaker, Cllr. BG Sikhonde and Mkhondo Local Municipality, Speaker of Council Cllr. MZ Ngwenya.
Commissions were formed with a purpose of discussing Integrated approaches to oversee effective public involvement within the Municipality.
