MKHONDO LOCAL MUNICIPALITY SUPPORT THE 'LOVE MKHONDO' INITIATIVE

In continuous efforts to keep Mkhondo clean, the municipality partnered with the Love Mkhondo team, an NPO that comprises of different stakeholders from the community, for a clean-up programme.
Teams were allocated in different areas around Mkhondo. The MMC for Technical Services, Cllr. M Thwala was at the NG Kerk team, with Cllr. N Mthethwa and Cllr. T Qwabe also taking part in the day’s activities.
The Love Mkhondo drive is an initiative that calls upon communities to pull their sleeves up and keep Mkhondo clean.

MKHONDO LOCAL MUNICIPALITY 2024/25 FINANCIAL YEAR DRAFT INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT PLAN (IDP) AND BUDGET REVIEW CONSULTATIVE MEETING AT WARD 03
The Draft Integrated Development Plan and Budget consultative meetings commenced on 11 April 2024 and ran throughout the month of April.
Today, 1 May 2024, the final IDP and Budget meeting was successfully held at Matafuleni Community Hall in Ward 03.
The meeting was chaired by Ward Councillor, Cllr. M.N Mbatha, and was attended by Ward Committee members and Municipal officials.

Mkhondo Local Municipality Speaker of Council, Cllr. Mduduzi Ngwenya presided over an Ordinary Council Meeting, that sat today 30 April 2024 at the Council Chambers.

Integrated Development Plan and Budget consultative meetings commenced on 11 April 2024 and are scheduled to take place throughout the month of April.
Today, on the 28th of April 2024, the meeting was held at Kleinfreistaat; under Ward 08.
Ward Councillor, Cllr. M Ngwenya , chaired the meeting, and it was attended by Community Development Worker and Ward Committee members.
2024 SOUTH AFRICAN MUNICIPAL SPORTS AND RECREATION ASSOCIATION (SAMSRA) GERT SIBANDE DISTRICT GAMES
“Lasuka Lahlala”, the SAMSRA Games season has begun.
Yesterday, 26 April 2024, the SAMSRA District Games were being held at Lekwa Local Municipality, Standerton. There were eight Local Municipalities under Gert Sibande District Municipality (GDSM) competing for the Championship positions.
There were seven sporting codes the municipalities were participating under: Volleyball, Tug of War, Pool, Netball, Soccer, Tennis and Darts, with Mkhondo Local Municipality only participated in five of these.
In support of the games, we honoured the presence of the Speaker of Council from GDSM, Cllr. B Sikhonde, Councillors, Management, SAMSRA Sport Wellness committees (DEC, PEC, LEC), National SG Mr Sikhakhne and District SG Mr Madoda.
The games were sponsonsored by Everest Financial Services, Nedbank, Mutual, Sanlam, Metropolitan, Mgfc aerobics, Medical Aids and iMas finance.

Today, 26 April 2024, the meeting was held at Sakhiziwe Primary School under Ward 02.
Ward Councillor, Cllr. Bheki Maisela, chaired the meeting, and it was attended by the MMC for Corporate Services, Cllr. Mthandeni Mkhabela; assigned Municipal Officials, the Community Development Worker and Ward Committee members.

Integrated Development Plan and Budget consultative meetings commenced on 11 April 2024 and are scheduled to take place throughout the month of April.
Today, 25 April 2024, the second meeting of the day was held at the Municipal Town Hall, under Ward 07.
During the meeting, the community had the opportunity to choose their Ward Committee members to serve in the Ward; this task was carried out by the Manager in the office of the Speaker, Pamela Vilakazi.
Ward Councillor, Cllr. Irene Brussow, chaired the meeting, and it was attended by the assigned municipal officials, the Community Development Worker and Ward Committee Members.
