THIS NOTICE IS HEREBY ISSUED TO INFORM MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC THAT THE MUNICIPAL OFFICES WILL BE CLOSED AT 13H00 ON 19 DECEMBER 2019 AND RE-OPEN ON 06 JANUARY 2020 AT 07H30 DUE TO FESTIVE SEASON HOLIDAYS.

The Speaker of Mkhondo Municipal Council, honourable Cllr Thembelihle Nkosi hereby gives notice in terms of Section 19 (a) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, No. 32 of 2000 that an Ordinary Council meeting of the Mkhondo Local Municipality will be held in the Municipal Council Chamber, situated at 33 Cnr Mark & Dewet Street, eMkhondo, on Thursday, 12 December 2019 at 10h00.

BURSARY OPPORTUNITY - REF/EB/11/17
The Municipality is inviting students within the Mkhondo Local Municipality to apply for bursaries to be awarded for the academic year 2020 in the following field of study:
- Engineering (Civil, Electrical & Chemical);
- Forestry;
- Town & Regional Planning;
- Information Technology; and
- Finance
Interested students must submit relevant documents, accompanied by a completed standard application form available at the Municipal strategic areas.

Water and Wastewater Quality Results Report for April 2019 - June 2019
This report indicates an overview of water quality status for the last three months (i.e. April 2019 – June 2019) across Mkhondo Local Municipality jurisdiction area. The report is generated from the monthly water quality results received from Gert Sibande District Municipality Water Quality Laboratory. The report provides summary information on water quality results as required for legislation compliance and thus includes percentage characterisation of water quality against national standards limit/standards for the specified period.
Mkhondo Local Municipality serves as the Water Service Authority (WSA) and also Water Service Provider (WSA). The municipality provides access to water for the communities within its jurisdiction in accordance to the constitution of the Republic of South Africa (Act 108 of 1996), the Municipal Structures Act (Act 117 of 1998), Municipal Systems Act (Act 32 of 2000) and Water Services Act (Act 108 of 1997).

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 21(A) and 28(3) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, No. 32 of 2000 (as amended) that the Council of Mkhondo Local Municipality has adopted its IDP process plan for the 2020/2021 financial year on Friday, 30 August 2019
The local community are invited to view and peruse on the IDP Process Plan for 2020-2021 that the municipality intend to follow when it’s developing the IDP for 2020-2021. The Process Plan documents will be available at municipal strategic venues, listed on the attached document.
