The Mkhondo Local Municipality hereby invites any expressions of interests from emerging small businesses, Government Departments, NPOs and NGOs as well as other private sector stakeholders interested in the utilization of municipal land/sites for commercial, social, institutional, recreational, educational and many other uses incidental hereto in terms of Section 79(18) of the Local Government Ordinance, 1939 (Ordinance 17 of 1939) as amended read together with Section 21 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000) as amended, Section 27 of the Mkhondo Supply Chain Policy, Section 14(2)(a)(b), (4), (5) read with Section 90 and Section 120 with Regulation 40 of the Municipal Financial Management Act, 2003 (Act 56 of 2003 as amended) which governs the disposal of municipal capital assets.

Water and Wastewater Quality Report (July 2018- September 2018) by Technical Services Department.
This report indicates an overview of water quality status for the last three months (i.e. July 2018 – September 2018) across Mkhondo Local Municipality jurisdiction area. The report is generated from the monthly water quality results received from Gert Sibande District Municipality Water Quality Laboratory.

Please be informed that the notice that was advertised on the 20th July 2018 in the Excelsior Newspaper, indicated a closing date of no later than 31 August 2018. The closing date has been further extended to no later than 14 September 2018. A Compulsory briefing session will be held on the 28 August 2018 at 11:00 at the Mkhondo Local Municipality, Council Chamber.

Mkhondo Local Municipality hereby requests reputable private developers to submit proposals to develop strategic municipal land into a mixed-use residential development through a private sector-led investment in terms of Section 79(18) of the Local Government Ordinance, 1939 (Ordinance 17 of 1939) as amended read together with Section 21 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000) as amended, Section 27 of the Mkhondo Supply Chain Policy, Section 14(2)(a)(b), (4), (5) read with Section 90 and Section 120 with Regulation 40 of the Municipal Financial Management Act, 2003 (Act 56 of 2003 as amended) for the disposal of municipal capital assets and the entering into land and development agreements with the Municipality.

Mkhondo Local Municipality hereby gives notice, that in terms of Section 20(1) of the Spatial Planning and Land use Management Act of 2013 (SPLUMA), read in conjunction with Section 4 (1)) of the Mkhondo Local Municipality Land Use Management By-Law of 2016, that it prepared a Draft Spatial Development Framework (SDF).
