In Pictures |

The Mkhondo Local Municipality in-corporation with Gert Sibande District Municipality, Inkomati uSuthu, Department of Agriculture, and Community Workers Programme were out and about delivering services to the community of Ward 11, eZiphunzini.

The GSDM working hand-in-hand with MLM, embarked upon a "Clean-up Awareness Campaign" addressing the issue of illegal dumping, as it continues to be a huge concern in our communities. The illegal dumping also has negative environmental impacts, polluting out state waters, streams, ponds, dams, and lakes, resulting in damaging our soil quality which negatively affect our air quality from open burning activities.

The awareness was led by the GSDM MMC for Community and Social Services - Cllr N.N Zulu, GSDM Environmental Practitioner - Mr Qedusizi Madi, MLM MMC for Community Services - Cllr Walter Vilakazi, and General Manager for Community Services - Ms Zamanyambose Mthethwa.

Planting of trees to preserve the environment, Litter picking along the streets of eZiphunzini, and clearing of Illegal dumping sites was the order of the day.
