2017 Best school awarded by Mkhondo Local Municipality, under Amsterdam Circuit - "Nganana Secondary School" - 31 January 2018
The Executive Mayor, Hon. Cllr Vusi Motha accompanied by the Speaker, Cllr Thembi Nkosi, General Manager, Mr. Mduduzi Thabade embarked on a journey to " Nganana Secondary School" under Amsterdam Circuit, to congratulate and present an Award Trophy to the School for being the Best Achieved school for the 2017 academic year, and also to motivate the 2018 learners to achieve more.

On the 31 January 2018 - Executive Mayor, Hon. Cllr Vusi Motha accompanied by the Speaker, Cllr Thembi Nkosi, General Manager, Mr. Mduduzi Thabede, LED Forum representative and Local Business people, embarked on the Soil turning for construction of a Road and Hawkers stalls in Amsterdam. The team also checked on the progress of Dignified Sanitation Toilet project done by Mkhondo Local Municpality.

During the first day of the New year 2018 School Re-Opening, Speaker - Cllr Thembi Nkosi of Mkhondo Local Municipality, Deputy Minister of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Mr Bheki Cele and the team visited "Ndlela High School and Amadlelo Aluhlaza Secondary School for the purpose of Motivating the 2018 learners to study and perform to their full capacity and achieve best result at the year end.

Tourism Horse Racing Heritage 2017
Mkhondo Local Municipality Tourism division hosted a Horse Race Event in Saul Mkhizeville (Driefontein) in celebration of Heritage and Tourism and invited Horse Racers from Saul Mkhizeville and surrounding to compete during the event. It was a very extraordinary event "Intuthuko Iqala Ngathi".
