2024 SOUTH AFRICAN MUNICIPAL SPORTS AND RECREATION ASSOCIATION (SAMSRA) GERT SIBANDE DISTRICT GAMES
“Lasuka Lahlala”, the SAMSRA Games season has begun.
Yesterday, 26 April 2024, the SAMSRA District Games were being held at Lekwa Local Municipality, Standerton. There were eight Local Municipalities under Gert Sibande District Municipality (GDSM) competing for the Championship positions.
There were seven sporting codes the municipalities were participating under: Volleyball, Tug of War, Pool, Netball, Soccer, Tennis and Darts, with Mkhondo Local Municipality only participated in five of these.
In support of the games, we honoured the presence of the Speaker of Council from GDSM, Cllr. B Sikhonde, Councillors, Management, SAMSRA Sport Wellness committees (DEC, PEC, LEC), National SG Mr Sikhakhne and District SG Mr Madoda.
The games were sponsonsored by Everest Financial Services, Nedbank, Mutual, Sanlam, Metropolitan, Mgfc aerobics, Medical Aids and iMas finance.
Integrated Development Plan and Budget consultative meetings commenced on 11 April 2024 and are scheduled to take place throughout the month of April.
Today, 26 April 2024, the meeting was held at Sakhiziwe Primary School under Ward 02.
Ward Councillor, Cllr. Bheki Maisela, chaired the meeting, and it was attended by the MMC for Corporate Services, Cllr. Mthandeni Mkhabela; assigned Municipal Officials, the Community Development Worker and Ward Committee members.
